NATURAL GAS SCHEDULER FOR AKRON NG
OBJECTIVE / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
At AKRON - USA, we are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Natural Gas Scheduler to support our new natural gas storage facility.
The Natural Gas Scheduler will coordinate and optimize natural gas transportation, ensuring smooth operations, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
- Schedule all core gas purchases on intrastate and interstate pipelines, particularly in the Louisiana and South Texas regions.
- Monitor and analyze deliveries, gas supply, and pipeline operations, proactively resolving any delivery issues.
- Optimize gas receipts by evaluating capacity availability and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain communication with suppliers, pipelines, and plant operators to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide data and respond to regulatory requests from Federal and State authorities and internal teams.
- Collaborate with the Back Office team to reconcile pipeline and supplier invoice discrepancies.
- Monitor pipeline cuts, constraints, and maintenance. Advise risk and trading of all potential costs and penalties related to each trade.
- Provide market information (i.e. constraints) to the trading team as necessary and assist in intra-day/intra month capacity optimization.
- Offer training and mentorship to entry-level team members.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in natural gas scheduling. (required).
- Experience with data systems (preferred).
- Experience with Texas intrastate natural gas pipelines (preferred).
- Strong understanding of natural gas transportation, storage operations, and pipeline tariffs (preferred).
KEY SKILLS & COMPENTENCIES:
- Strong understanding of the pipeline transportation grid in the Southeast region of the United States (Texas and Louisiana)
- In-depth knowledge of the natural gas industry, including contracting practices, capacity brokering, and supply basin economics.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Able to interpret the operational requirements and financial impacts of transport contracts. Understands the basic legal framework supporting natural gas pipeline contracts, pipeline tariffs and regulatory agencies (FERC & RRC)
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor´s Degree
- Language: Spanish (preferred) and English (advanced) - requirement
- Have the required documents in order to work in the U.S.A.
