What you'll be doing
- Event Strategy: Develop and execute event strategies across offices, aligning with business objectives, brand positioning, and company culture.
- Event Management: Partner with internal stakeholders to create engaging and impactful events that inspire clients and employees while achieving key objectives.
- End-to-End Execution: Coordinate logistics, internal volunteers, outside vendors and caterers, client and employee communication, entertainment, equipment, and on-site execution to ensure a positive experience for attendees
- Vendor Partnerships: Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with event vendors to ensure exceptional service, maximize value, and drive successful outcomes.
- Logistics Management: Determine and manage logistics for events, including venue selection, vendors and caterers, equipment, entertainment, volunteers, and supplies.
- Communication: Design invitations, reminders, and promotional materials; maintain client invitation lists and manage RSVPs; communicate and promote upcoming events with employees and clients.
- Team Collaboration: Work with internal team members and volunteers to ensure event success.
- Networking: Build and maintain relationships with clients, employees, and guests before, during, and after events by representing AKS as the primary point of contact.
- Travel: Be able to travel to locations in Oregon and Washington for events held outside of the Portland metropolitan area.
Who you are
- Strong experience in planning and executing employee and client events.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Smartsheet and Power BI a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-starter with a proactive, independent work style who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem solver with a positive attitude.
- Strategic thinker with a balance of tactical and strategic execution, including effective budget and ROI management.
- Calm under pressure.
- Flexible and willing to work unpredictable hours and overtime around event schedules, which often include weekends and evenings immediately before and after the event.
Nice to have
- Experience with event management or project management software.
- Knowledge of local venues and vendors in the Pacific Northwest.
- Past experience in the engineering and construction industry.

Location: This position is based in our Tualatin, OR office and will require some travel.
