Position Overview
Aksia is seeking an early career investment professional to join our Private Equity asset class team. The Private Equity asset class team is responsible for identifying potential primary fund investment opportunities, performing due diligence, proposing recommendations for client investments, and monitoring client portfolio holdings. This role will focus on providing dedicated asset class support to the U.S. Middle Market Fund Investment Team. This position will be based onsite in our San Diego office and will include regular interaction with global colleagues and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Identifying and assessing investment opportunities in middle market private equity buyout funds spanning the U.S. market.
- Performing comprehensive fund due diligence, including detailed quantitative track record analysis
- Writing detailed investment memorandums for consideration by the Investment Committee
- Monitoring market trends, industry developments, and macro developments of relevance
- Maintaining an active network of relationships including both existing and prospective investment ideas to support an active pipeline of opportunities for the Firm’s clients
- Establishing a working knowledge of the private equity asset class
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or related field (3.4 gpa minimum)
- 0-4 years experience with a private equity consulting firm, a Fund of Funds, or other financial institution where the primary role involved underwriting private equity fund investments.
- Strong analytical insight and spreadsheet modelling skills
- Genuine intellectual curiosity

- Ability to identify and summarize key investment considerations and risks.
- Ability to participate in a constructive review and debate of the merits of an investment and to be challenged on a point of view
- Strong qualitative and quantitative skills in: financial modelling, company research, investment memo preparation, and presentation skills
- Well organized with good time-management skills and able to manage multiple priorities
Base Pay/Salary
- The estimated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $95,000 which is specific to California and may change in the future. Aksia pays a total compensation package which includes a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
