Description:
The Global Program Management organization within Business Operations supports our Ad Platforms technology group. We are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive the planning and execution of complex programs that span multiple areas within Ad Platforms or extend across departments and other Technology groups.
This role requires a proven track record in program management, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will be able to independently manage multiple assignments, gain a strong understanding of technical details, and effectively communicate schedules, risks, and status updates to both technical and business stakeholders. Collaboration with project managers and technical leads is essential to coordinate schedules, deliverables, and dependencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead large, strategic, and technically complex priority programs.
- Develop program plans and timelines, ensuring all dependencies are accounted for.
- Ensure transparency in progress, risks, and issue resolution, proactively driving mitigation and contingency planning.
- Communicate status updates and program summaries through presentations, emails, and direct communication with stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Clearly define roles and responsibilities for all stakeholders, ensuring accountability.
- Oversee and facilitate all build activities, including QA, as per the program plan.
- Track and report budgets, proactively managing costs and resources.
- Perform capacity planning for teams.
- Collaborate with other program management colleagues to coordinate activities across multiple technology teams.
- Maintain a strong understanding of program domain technical components, including architecture, tools, and deployment practices, as well as cross-system interactions and dependencies.
- Track and report key program metrics, keeping stakeholders informed.
- Manage activities and resolve conflicts independently, with minimal management intervention.
- Focus discussions and activities on results, filtering out distractions.
- Navigate the organization effectively, even when responsibilities are not explicitly defined.
- Exhibit strong leadership qualities, inspiring collaboration, work ethic, and creative problem-solving.
- Coordinate with external vendors, where applicable.
- May facilitate Agile ceremonies and processes at the team-of-teams level.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 years managing large-scale, strategic software development programs in a global technology organization.
- Proven ability to facilitate effective communication across diverse teams.
- Expertise in Agile or Waterfall program management methods (Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile).
- Strong planning, delivery, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and meeting facilitation, particularly with senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a media technology environment.
- Knowledge of Ad Tech or demonstrated ability to learn a technology-driven engineering domain.
- Formal project management certifications (PMP, CSM, SAFe, etc.).
Education:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required.
