Central Baptist Church, located in Opelika, Alabama is prayerfully seeking to fill the position of Bi-vocational Pastor. We are a Southern Baptist church rooted in faith, fellowship and the desire to expand our reach and impact within and beyond our community. We are a small congregation with an average of 35 to 40 people, mostly seniors, with a great capacity for growth.
We are seeking a candidate who possesses a seminary degree; a minimum of three years of experience; who is born again and has a personal testimony of his personal conversion and commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; meets biblical qualifications for an elder (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1; 1 Peter 5:1-4), and, has strong leadership skills and abilities.

The pastor’s roles, responsibilities and qualifications may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible to the church to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ
- Provide leadership of the congregation into a deeper more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ
- Align with the Southern Baptist Doctrines of Faith (Baptist Faith and Message)
- Committed to integrity and accountability to those he serves
- Plan and conduct services for Sunday morning worship and Wednesday night bible study
- Lead in observance of ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper
- Lead the church in an effective program of witnessing and outreach
- Visit members , the sick, and new prospects
- Moderate business meetings
- Spiritual and scriptural counseling
- Work with deacons, church staff, and committees
- Should defend the Bible as being without error
- Support missions
