What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Social Worker position at Alabama Department of Public Health?
The Public Health Social Worker is a permanent, full-time position with the Department of Public Health (https://www.alabamapublichealth.gov/). This is entry level professional social work experience in a public health social services program.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing support to district strike team by assisting with testing and/or vaccine distribution activities and other clinics or activities to provide services related to emergency and/or disease outbreak issues for the community.
- Completing disease outbreak investigations and follow-ups.
- Providing direct assistance to clients in identifying and accessing services needed for testing, prevention, and other related needs.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
-Alabama Social Work License, at the appropriate level, as issued by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners, must be attained during the probationary period in order to obtain permanent employment.
-Transportation must be available for use on the job.
