POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum entry sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with the deaf and hard of hearing.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in overnight supervision of youth in a dorm setting.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise the assigned dormitory, working directly with students and STEM Academy staff.
- Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students and STEM Academy staff.
- Ensure students follow proper bedtime routines and conduct regular bed checks.
- Escort students to the cafeteria and supervise them during mealtimes.
- Enforce dormitory rules fairly and respectfully, without causing antagonism.
- Participate in housekeeping duties as needed.
- Maintain prompt and accurate records as required.
- Report damages or maintenance needs to the responsible coordinator.
- Administer medication as directed, keeping accurate records, and escort students to the infirmary when necessary.
- Assist with laundry services, including washing and ironing.
- Address emergency situations calmly and logically.
- Maintain professional conduct and attire, teaching students appropriate daily living and social skills.
- Complete and submit daily dormitory chronicles.
- Use American Sign Language at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Upon being offered employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB."

SALARY: $19.88 per hour Scale S1 Rank HS
Direct deposit is required.
This is a non-exempt position, and is subject to overtime provisions of the Fair
Labor Standards Act.
