Job Description
Alabama State University, Academic Affairs/Harold Murphy Graduate School, invites applications to fill the Graduate School Admissions Coordinator position. This position manages a blend of responsibilities that combine admissions, matriculation, student records, management of the student lifecycle in PeopleSoft, management of the CRM, internal and external communications, accurate record keeping, and policy management. This position will exercise a high level of initiative, organizational skills, and customer service with an ability to handle a wide variety of diverse tasks with accuracy are key characteristics of a successful candidate. The Admissions Coordinator will work closely with the ASU Global Campus, deans, department chairs, and program coordinators.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of institutional policies, including graduate curriculum
- Maintain records in the camp ERP and oversee the Graduate School application portal
- Mange both paper and electronic student records while collaborating with colleges, programs, and external stakeholders to develop and refine policies and procedures
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Registrar and other academic and student support departments
- Assist in implementing new programs, process documents, and manage student processes such as matriculation, major changes, and admission decisions
- Develop and maintain data dashboards
- Support prospective student recruitment through admission, provide project assistance as needed and ensure excellent customer service in person, by phone, online and via email
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, 3-5 years of experience in higher education admissions or a closely related area, strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability engage effectively with a wide rang of stakeholders, demonstrated ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment, have experience with reviewing and maintaining academic records, experience with the use of collaborative video conferencing, i.e. Zoom, for virtual events and individual meetings, and with an Enterprise Resource Management system, and be proficient with general technology, including word processing, spreadsheets, etc. are required.
