What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard (Part-time) position at Alabama State University?
Alabama State University, Operations and Event Management invites applications for the position of Lifeguard (part-time). Under general supervision, the selected applicant will ensure the safety of patrons of the aquatic center by preventing and responding to emergencies
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the facility, act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency
- Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
- Perform various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
- Prepare and maintain appropriate activity reports
- Prepare routine administrative paperwork and follow routine verbal and written instructions
- Document and reports all disciplinary problems and accidents to the Department of Public Safety and Operations and Events management
- Maintain a clean facility to include the bathrooms, vacuum the pool at least 2 times per week
- Check and secure gates and doors at closing times
- Perform other duties as assigned
