Job Description
Alabama State University, College of Health Sciences, Physical Therapy, invites applications for the position of Staff Associate. The selected applicant will hold responsibility for the management of the physical therapy suite, and will serve as the point of contact for faculty, current and potential students, clinical faculty, and other members / departments outside the program, and coordination and supervision of daily activities of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Assist with accreditation documentation
- Assist with semester scheduling, and enrollment of students
- Assist with coordination of departmental events
- Assist in coordinating travel arrangements for faculty, staff, and students
- Create, maintain and update faculty, staff, student databases, including PTCAS (physical therapy database for incoming students)
- File and maintain all academic and clinical documents for students records
- Maintain and monitor PTCAS (online Physical Therapy Application System)
- Order equipment, office supplies, furniture, lab supplies, classroom supplies
- POC for vendors and submit invoices for payment
- Prepare and submit monthly payroll for staff, faculty and students
- Process new students into the department (orientation) and prepare files for all incoming students
- Submit requisitions, for good and services
- Provide staff support to the Admissions Committee
- Record faculty meeting minutes, and distribute as appropriate
- Schedule and conduct departmental tours for potential students
- Supervise student workers
- Update the department's webpage as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Secretarial Science, Office Administration or other appropriate fields with 5 years of administrative or secretarial experience, strong written and oral communication skills, and excellent organizational skills are required.
