Salary : Job Purpose
The CAD Specialist provides support for DPW projects by managing and updating CAD drawings. This includes modifying existing drawings, creating new designs, maintaining the Engineering Record Drawing Repository, and ensuring that all building plans and schematics are accurate and up to date. The CAD Specialist works closely with engineers and project managers, provides training to users on Autodesk software, and supports fieldwork for data verification.0700-1600, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Produce CAD drawings depicting computing network wiring installations with details such as types of cables, cable penetration points in the ships hull, paths taken for each cable, and connection points.
- Produce CAD drawings detailing components housed in shipboard computer racks.
- Produce CAD wiring diagrams showing connections of individual cables to various computing equipment.
- Produce CAD drawings used as part of DoDs Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation packages.
- Print various informational graphics, spreadsheets, and visual documents using a plotter.
- Work with project managers, designers, engineers, and other professionals.
- Collect all drawings, data, and notes involved in a project, draft building plans, layout interiors, and the like.
- Specify dimensions, codes, production methods, and materials.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor fabrication and installation progress and address issues as needed.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
