Salary : Job Purpose
The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for providing training to DPW personnel on IT systems, including GFEBS and other specialized software. This includes creating comprehensive training materials, organizing training sessions twice per month, and offering individual user training as needed. The specialist ensures that employees have the skills necessary to operate IT systems effectively and provides refresher courses for new system updates or rollouts. Training may be conducted at user desks or in a classroom setting, depending on requirements.0700-1600, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following :
- Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses.
- Translate requirements into trainings that will groom employees for the next step of their career path.
- Build annual training program and prepare teaching plans.
- Develop or oversee the production of classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals.
- Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results.
- Acclimate new hires to the business and conduct orientation sessions.
- Deliver training courses.
- Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behavior.
- Determine areas of improvement by collecting and reviewing training participants feedback.
- Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure that they reflect any changes.
- Stay abreast of the new trends and tools in employee development.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
