GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision performs technical accounting work in the Financial Services Division.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of Associate Degree in Business or Accounting or a High School graduate with 3-5 years of experience related to the nature of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. NCASBO Certified School Business Manager preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Manage purchase orders for individual schools and departments.
- Review purchase orders for compliance with state and local regulations.
- Maintain file of outstanding purchase orders with periodic review along with balancing purchase orders to the general ledger.
- Prepare invoices to schools and other agencies.
- Send daily deposits to bank electronically.
- Prepare the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) purchasing report quarterly.
- Reconcile school nutrition, capital outlay, day care & state health plan bank statements monthly.
- Prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Prepare semiannual report of cash balances (LGC 203) for June and December.
- Post transportation reimbursements from the monthly TD-19 Report.
- Prepare annual escheatable property report
- Manage and coordinate bank correspondences for Chief Finance Officer.
- Complete quarterly MAC Reports and “Fee for Service” Cost Reports.
- Assist with year-end audit procedures and compliance.
- Prepare charter school payments
- Multi-site work report
- Responsible for positive pay files
- Responsible for 1099 preparation at year end.
- Manage new vendor bank accounts.
- Post monthly day care fees.
- Create budget codes as needed.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements: Must be able to use a variety of automated office equipment such as computers, copiers, typewriters, calculators, etc. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Due to amount of time spent standing and/or walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for Light Work.

Motor Coordination: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes rapidly and accurately in using office equipment.
Manual Dexterity: Requires the ability to handle a variety of office machines, etc. Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination.
Color Discrimination: Does not require the ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color.
Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with persons acting under stress.
Physical Communication: Requires the ability to talk and hear: (Talking: expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words. Hearing: perceiving nature of sounds by ear). Must be able to communicate via telephone.
