Alamance County Recreation and Parks Department is seeking an individual for the position of Park Attendant primarily to assist with the opening and closing of our parks and paddle accesses in northern Alamance County including Great Bend, Glencoe, Shallowford, and Pleasant Grove, as well as other park and community center locations throughout Alamance County.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsibilities: Primary responsibility is to open and close the entrance of various parks throughout Northern Alamance County. Works independently serving as a public contact for the parkMaintains cleanliness of the parks by picking up trash and emptying trash receptacles, cleaning and maintaining the restrooms and other light maintenance duties. Provides good customer service to public as they utilize the park. Work hours are 10-19 per week with morning hours 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM or evening hours between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM depending on the season. Flexible schedule is required with weekend and weekday work assignments. County vehicle will be provided, and County policy must be maintained.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Skills & Abilities: Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Some college course work is preferred with a major in recreation or related field. Experience: Prior experience working independently to accomplish a diverse variety of tasks and experience working in customer service preferred. Computer Skills: Must have a basic to intermediate functional knowledge of computers. Experience with internet, email, Microsoft Word, preferred. License/Credentials/Requirement: Possession of a valid NC driver's license. Other Important Position Information: Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position. This position is a part-time non-benefited position in which hours will vary and will average no greater than 19 hours per week.
