What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker Supervisor III position at Alamance County Government?
The primary purpose of this position will be to provide Supervision and Training for the Child Protective Service teams including Assessments. Duties include planning, case assignment, coordination of workflow, case review and consultation; staff training, resolving problems and ensuring that quality services are provided to the community. The successful candidate will have a considerable knowledge of laws, regulations and policies which are applicable.

To be effective in this position you must have a thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to complex casework, group work and community problems.
- Provides supervision and managerial functions including planning, organizing/directing, training, setting work standards, reviewing work, counseling and disciplining and performing other personnel functions for lower-level social workers, students, interns and other staff members.
- Must often work with complex and involved family dynamics, acute to severe medical and/or emotional disorders and mental illnesses that the client may possess as well as handle emergencies and crises as they arise-on an almost daily basis.
- Serves a rotational on-call and back up schedule for emergency situations involving the need to be available after hours for child welfare needs.

Education & Experience: Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint Experience).
License/Credentials: Possession of a valid N.C. driver's license is required for this position and maintaining a driving record in accordance with Alamance County policy.
Other Position Information: This position is subject to reallocation contingent upon funding, agency needs and client population and are subject to perform work during emergency or disaster situations as required and may be required to staff shelter overnight.
