Job Description
The position of supervisor is a very key role for production success. The supervisor must learn to manage effectively to accomplish shared goals and objectives.
Key Accountabilities/ Outcomes
- Must know how to perform functions of every job on their line.
- Constantly check the schedule for any updates or changes on the: expiration dates, item changes, materials needed, or new products.
- Fill out daily paperwork including downtime report and production report.
- Fill out CIP and COP paperwork in addition to checking behind their employees once these are performed and communicate with their team about the results.
- Obtain mechanical knowledge of the equipment used on the line through hands on interaction.
- Know how to change the gaskets on the filler as needed.
- Communicate with processing when there are any changes on the line, or the line were to go down due to mechanical issues.
- Oversees production of their room with special attention to daily attainment goals.
- Assists management in cross training personnel and the weekly training of new employees.
- Ability to give out breaks to their employees and fill in when necessary.
- Displays competency in forklift driving.
- Attention to GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Fill out timecard approvals on a bi-weekly basis.
- Will be exposed to non-climate control areas (hot and cold areas)
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must possess basic math and computer skills, as well as good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Responsible for knowing and adhering to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
- Frequently required standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, and moving around the facility.
- Work in high noise areas and use mandatory hearing protection.
- Ability to complete reports and forms.
- Ability to stack/lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.
