THE POSITION
Under close supervision, to perform a variety of entry-level maintenance and minor construction tasks on buildings and grounds; to assist building trades personnel in the upkeep of County buildings and equipment; and to do related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience :
The equivalent of one year of recent, full-time paid experience making a variety of minor repairs to buildings.
License :
Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
Special Requirement :
Employees are required to obtain and maintain an Alameda County Sheriff's Office security clearance.
Physical Characteristics :
May require heavy lifting, working from ladders or scaffolding, and working in confined areas.
NOTE : The Civil Service Commission may modify the above Minimum Qualifications in the announcement of an examination.
EXAMINATION COMPONENTS
The examination will consist of the following steps :
- A review of the applicants' application and supplemental questionnaires to verify possession of minimum requirements. Those candidates who possess the minimum requirements for the class will move on to the next step in the examination process.
- A performance examination which will be weighted as 100% of the candidate's final examination score.
CANDIDATES MUST ATTAIN A QUALIFYING RATING ON EACH PORTION OF THIS EXAMINATION.
