Job Summary And Description
Directs, plans, develops, and manages the accounting disbursements system to control financial resources. Implements operational improvements in payroll and accounts payable in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, district board policies, and laws and regulations.
This position will oversee Accounts Payable and Payroll Departments. Ensures all Payroll and Accounts Payable related reporting and payments are accurately completed and submitted before required deadlines. Leads and supervises staff to include Associate Directors of Accounts Payable and Payroll and the Manager of Payroll Reporting.
Reports to Controller.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
- Seven years of experience in an accounting, payroll and/or accounts payable.
- Three years of supervisory experience.
- Experience using accounting software.
- Governmental accounting experience.
- Higher education experience.
- Texas Retirement System (TRS) experience.
- Ellucian Banner ERP system experience.
- Prefer Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
