Position Title: Early Childhood FACE Teacher

On the rural Alamo Navajo Reservation, the Alamo Navajo School Board is seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood FACE Teacher to provide engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children aged 3-5. This role is integral to fostering a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment where children and their families can thrive. The position aligns with Head Start Performance Standards and FACE guidelines to support holistic growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
· Create a safe and healthy environment where children aged 3-5 can thrive.
· Develop and deliver age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with FACE guidelines.
· Build meaningful and lasting relationships with children and their families.
· Select and utilize appropriate instructional materials, techniques, and resources.
· Maintain accurate student records, conduct assessments, and prepare reports.
· Collaborate with parents and community members to support student growth.
· Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching skills.
· Ensure classroom materials and equipment are secure and well-maintained.
· Maintain required certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR, food handler’s permit, physical exam, NM Driver’s License).
· Support and guide classroom volunteers to foster a welcoming environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
· BA in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) with New Mexico State Licensure in Early Childhood or equivalent area.
· Preferred- Fluent Navajo and English speakers with the ability to translate at a layman’s level.
INDIAN PREFERENCE: Preferential consideration for employment will be given to persons of documented Navajo, American Indian or Alaskan Native Tribal Membership who meet the qualifications above, in accordance with the requirements of N.P.E.A. P.L. 93-638 and the Navajo Nation Tribal Code.
