mWave Industries, LLC  in Windham, Maine, a part of the Portland, Maine Metropolitan area, is hiring for a  Senior Mechanical Engineer . mWAVE is a leading global provider of innovative custom and commercial microwave antenna solutions for Commercial, Exploration, Communications, Military and Government customers. BASIC REQUIREMENTS : Education

Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering

Education - Suggested

Masters in Engineering or Related Field

Minimum Applicable Work Experience

7 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering

Required Nature of Applicable Experience

Experience designing custom products to specification

Computer Literacy

Highly Proficient - MS Excel / MS Word / MS PowerPoint

Highly Proficient – 3D Solid Modelling

Computer Literacy – Suggested

SolidWorks, FEA Simulation, Computer Programming

Language

Proficient in English

KEY PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS :

ENGINEERING FOCUS

  • Work independently performing Mechanical design and engineering on antenna products and production tooling to achieve project goals and design requirements
  • Ensuring designs adhere to relevant industry standards
  • Develop, plan, coordinate, carry out mechanical / environmental testing as necessary
  • Develop manufacturing methods internally and externally to support production objectives
  • Create Product Bills of Materials
  • Assist with Testing (antenna / electronic / mechanical / environmental) and recording of test results
  • Maintain product drawings, BOM’s, and work instructions
  • Provide First Line support of products to the internal department (e.g. Production, Quality, Sales)
  • Take the initiative to develop engineering skills and understanding of mWAVE products when opportunities to do so arise.

PRODUCTION

  • Assist with the production of prototype / first article product builds
  • Design and develop hardware and software to assist with any production related function as deemed needed by management;
  • Design electronic and mechanical tooling for testing and manufacturing purposes.
  • Hands-on practical skills in assembling products and fixtures, soldering, and general DIY.
  • AD HOC

  • Perform any other duties as requested by management
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS
