Job Summary
Alaska Addiction Rehabilitation Services Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate, client-centered care for individuals on their journey to recovery from substances. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health, substance use disorder with a focus on providing support to individuals facing various challenges and dual diagnosis issues. As a Counselor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through their healing journey.
Duties
- Provide clinical treatment functions for clients in individual and groups sessions using the client's treatment plan as a guide.
- Maintain client records in timely, orderly manner according to the guidelines established in the agency treatment manual.
- Adhere to State and Federal confidentiality laws.
- Perform intake assessment interviews using the bio-psychosocial assessment documents, DSM-5, and ASAM.
- Guide clients in the preparation of an individualized treatment plan.
- Prepare for and participates in weekly client case reviews.
- Facilitate psycho-educational and process groups.
Requirements
- Must be certified, as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Level 1.
- Prefer some experience working in a residential setting.
- Must be knowledgeable of the interaction between chemical dependency and mental illness and the treatment issues related to dual disorders.
- Is able to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
- Must be capable of maintaining client records, and client confidentiality as per State and Federal regulations.
- If a recovering individual, must be chemically free for a minimum of 2 years.
