Position Overview:
The Operations and Logistics Manager is an integral part of our bus transportation business, ensuring smooth daily operations and efficient logistics. This position involves coordinating with drivers, overseeing bus readiness, and handling minor maintenance tasks. A CDL or willingness to obtain one, with the ability to drive occasionally, is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bus Readiness and Inspections:
- Ensure all buses are properly cleaned and inspected before going into service.
- Perform basic maintenance and safety checks, reporting any issues that require professional repair.
- Driver Communication and Coordination:
- Communicate route assignments, schedules, and responsibilities to drivers.
- Serve as the point of contact for drivers during their routes, addressing any operational issues promptly.
- Logistics and Scheduling:
- Assist in creating and maintaining efficient schedules for drivers and buses.
- Monitor on-time performance and address any logistical challenges that arise.
- Minor Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform minor repairs or adjustments to vehicles as needed.
- Coordinate with mechanic for more extensive repairs.
- Occasional Driving (if CDL-certified):
- Step in as a driver when necessary to cover routes or handle emergencies.
- Transporting buses to mechanic appointments.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of bus inspections and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Hands-on approach to maintenance and logistics tasks.
- Willingness to obtain a CDL (if not already certified).
- Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet management is a plus.
