The Human Resources Department of the Alaska Court System has an opportunity for an organized, motivated, and outgoing individual to perform a wide variety of administrative and advanced clerical tasks in support of our department's recruitment, payroll, and personnel functions. The following duties are currently assigned. These may be reassigned in the department based on business requirements.
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the day to day operations of the HR Department. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while supporting our workforce.
Responsibilities
RECRUITMENT
- Set up and maintain recruitment files;
- Create, maintain, and update a variety of databases and spreadsheets used to track recruitment data;
- Distribute vacancy announcements;
- Assemble and send out new hire orientation packets;
- Communicate with hiring managers regarding recruitment status.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Serve as the primary receptionist for the Snowden Administrative Building;
- Open and close the Snowden Building and HR Department;
- Open, sort, date stamp, and route incoming mail and order supplies;
- Provide clerical support to all HR staff.
PAYROLL AND CLERICAL DUTIES
- Provide support to payroll staff;
- Sort timesheets and forward to the correct HR Generalist;
- Establish, maintain, and update personnel files;
- Prepare files for archiving.

- Ability to follow oral and written instructions with minimal direction.
- Ability to retain new information quickly and accurately.
- Experience working with and maintaining hard copy and electronic records systems.
- Proficient computer skills to include entering and retrieving data and using MS Word, Outlook, and Excel; Adobe a plus.
Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience AND the ability to type at least 40 words per minute (net).
Substitution:
Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.
