The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Central Region, is looking for an Engineer/Architect 3 in Anchorage to help us Keep Alaska Moving!

What You Will Be Doing

This position is responsible for coordinating all utility-related activities for capital improvement projects in the Central Region. This includes working closely with our in-house design team, private architectural and engineering consultants, various functional groups within the DOT&PF, as well as public and private utility companies and other external agencies. Additionally, this role oversees and leads the Utility Group within the Traffic, Safety, & Utilities Section, ensuring smooth management of both professional and administrative tasks

The Working Environment You Can Expect

This position resides in the DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters building in Anchorage, AK located at 4111 Aviation Ave. This building resides on the shores of Lake Hood and is across from the Ted Stevens International Airport. This office building is generally comprised of cubicle office space and organized by departmental sections and teams, including the Traffic, Safety, and Utilities Section in which this position is to be filled. Office hours and schedules have some flexibility, and travel to project sites may be required for short durations. Hybrid teleworking is an option upon completion of the mandatory probationary period.

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)

Minimum Qualifications

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and three years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series), or the equivalent.

Special Note

Note: Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS 08.48.191(b). Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
