Position Summary: The Psychologist will provide outpatient evaluations to patients, gather their history, and use tests to diagnose issues and create treatment plans at Alaska Treatment Center. They will conduct interviews and diagnostic tests to better understand mental health concerns. The Psychologists’ services will be done in the clinic or via telehealth services. He/she will also collaborate with the other clinicians at ATC for case management and the office manager for scheduling clients.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing comprehensive behavioral health assessments in clinical or telehealth settings during scheduled hours. These include completing patient notes within three days of the appointment, creating treatment plans, refilling or issuing medication prescriptions, and coordinating with other clinicians, social workers, or other team members to coordinate client care.
- Ability to navigate and document on the EHR (Icanotes) independently.
- Assist patients in managing mental health issues or modifying behaviors.
- Create and suggest treatment plans tailored to patient needs and diagnoses.
- Refer patients for further care, evaluation, or treatment when needed.
- Collaborate with clinicians, social workers, psychiatric nurses, psychiatrists, and other professionals to review and discuss treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a valid license to practice in Alaska.
- Doctoral degree from an accredited program in clinical or counseling psychology
- 2-3 years experience working as a Psychologist or related field
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must possess good interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize multiple functions or tasks.
- Outstanding listening abilities and emotional intelligence
- Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds and an understanding of cultural and social determinants of mental health.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferably: Female Psychologist
- Advanced training or certification in specific areas such as trauma, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), or neuropsychology.
- 4-5 years experience working as a Psychologist or related field
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $150,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
