Nurse Practitioner (NP) Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a nurse who has gained expertise in patient care services through clinical experience, study and supervised practice. The NP demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills, and credentialing to function in advanced practice and expanded specialty nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply medical knowledge to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order diagnostic tests.
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform minor surgery as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide family-centered care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, inventory medical supplies, and ensure smooth patient processing.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse and certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Ability to master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
