Job Description
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a critical role in providing comprehensive patient care as a member of the hospitalist team at Albany Medical Center. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop appropriate plans of care in collaboration with the attending physician and other healthcare professionals.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, consult with specialists, and implement therapeutic interventions as necessary to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, including coding for effective billing and inventory management.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring smooth patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York.
- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification upon hire.
- Ability to quickly master all aspects of computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to stand, walk, and sit occasionally, lifting and carrying patients or equipment as needed. The position also involves frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, with constant talking and hearing.
