Nursing Team Member
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse III to join our Elective Orthopedics team at Albany Medical Center. About the Role
This full-time position involves working on a 24-bed unit, providing care to post-surgical patients, including those undergoing elective orthopedic surgery and total joint procedures. You will work closely with patients, families, and colleagues, and have opportunities to develop your clinical expertise and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions.
- Assess and evaluate patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered.
- Apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients.
Qualifications
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
- Graduation from a professional academic nursing program conferring a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
- Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques.
