The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a critical member of our Pediatrics Gastroenterology team in Altamont, NY.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled NP to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree from an accredited NP program and be licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of New York. They will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with specialized health needs, ordering diagnostic tests, and developing and implementing treatment plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments and complete physical examinations, collecting clinical data and ordering medical laboratory test results.
- Administer medications or treatments and perform minor surgery as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical reports and inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts, ensuring the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
- Act as a mentor to new staff and/or physician assistant students.
Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited NP program - required.
- NP - Nurse Practitioner – Licensed Upon Hire - required.
- ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support Upon Hire - required.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire - required.
