Company Description

Alberty Group, LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Front-End Engineer to join our team, specializing in providing front-end engineering estimates for capital projects at a petrochemical and refining site in the St. Gabriel, LA area. The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with project stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely engineering estimates during the early phases of capital project development. This role requires a solid understanding of engineering principles, construction methods, and the ability to analyze and synthesize project data to provide actionable cost and resource estimates.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with safety, environmental, operations, maintenance, inspections, project managers, senior engineers, and other site stakeholders to gather project requirements and define the scope of capital projects.
  • Develop front-end engineering estimates for a variety of capital projects, including conceptual designs, pre-engineering, and feasibility stages.
  • Utilize engineering principles and data analysis techniques to evaluate project specifications, labor, materials, and equipment needs to generate cost estimates.
  • Provide cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making during project planning stages.
  • Ensure estimates comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies (rules, specifications, etc.)
  • Assess risk factors, propose mitigation strategies, and provide sensitivity analysis for project budgets.
  • Assist in the development of project schedules, identifying key milestones, critical paths, and dependencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, technologies, and construction methodologies.
  • Liaise with external vendors, contractors, and engineering consultants as required to obtain accurate cost data and pricing information.
  • Review historical data, similar projects, lessons learned, and industry benchmarks to refine cost estimation models and improve the accuracy of future estimates.
  • Provide technical guidance and support during the bidding and proposal phases, including evaluating contractor proposals and submissions.
  • Participate in regular project review meetings and provide feedback and recommendations for improving cost efficiency and engineering practices.

Requirements : Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline).
  • Experience :

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in front-end engineering, project estimation, or related roles in capital projects.
  • Experience in large-scale capital projects (industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or energy sectors).
  • Proven track record of delivering accurate estimates and supporting early-stage project development.
  • Skills & Knowledge :

  • Strong proficiency in engineering estimation software and tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project or similar).
  • Advanced understanding of construction methods, materials, labor costs, and project scheduling.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical data and translate it into cost estimates and project timelines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering cost-effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of risk management principles and ability to propose mitigation strategies.
  • Additional Qualifications :
  • Professional certifications in project management (PMP, CAPM) or estimation (AACE) ais a plus.
  • Ability to walk and climb ladders
  • Working Conditions :

  • This position will require in the field verification, evaluation and site assessments.
  • Personal vehicle is required to drive to work
