What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Project Engineer (Design) position at TEC Group International?
TEC Group International have partnered with a leading chemical manufacturing business to find a Senior Project Engineer.
Someone who can facilitates the development of all capital projects for the site, including the initial 3 stages of a capital project (Visualization, Conceptualization and Basic Engineering), as well as monitoring the successful completion of the detailed engineering, while ensuring the quality, integrity, safety and regulatory compliance of the Manufacturing Capital Management Process (MCMP).
Responsibilities:
- Manage small to mid-sized capital projects through initial stages (Stages 1-3) and support execution through completion (Stage 4).
- Provide QA and support to other project leads.
- Conduct feasibility studies, manage contract engineering services, and request project funding.
- Estimate budgets, timelines, and collaborate with contractors on engineering packages.
- Design mechanical systems while adhering to budgets and timelines.
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve problems, including piping stress analysis and design specifications.
- Prepare schedules, cost estimates, and support maintenance execution teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory codes, and industry standards.
- Actively promote safety and regulatory compliance across all projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 15 years of engineering experience, including 5 years as a Project Engineer or Manager.
- Proficient in PMI standards, CAESAR II, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of mechanical/piping design in petrochemical environments.
- Strong understanding of industry codes, safety standards, and project management.
