Description
Albion College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Accounting (Tax specialty) in the Economics & Management Department. Preference will be given to candidates who hold an advanced degree (PhD, DBA) in accounting or who possess a Masters in Accounting or MBA (emphasis in accounting) along with a CPA certification. Albion is dedicated to the highest quality in undergraduate education led by our teacher-scholar faculty. Our teacher-scholar model creates a vibrant community that cherishes faculty and student relationships and faculty scholarly contributions. We seek applicants with a passion for dynamic teaching, committed mentorship of students, and the liberal arts.
The person who occupies this position will have teaching responsibility in the areas of financial and managerial accounting, advanced taxation, governmental tax, and supervising our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program every spring. The person will teach 3 courses per semester (fall, spring).
Faculty in the Economics & Management Department consists of internationally recognized subject matter expertise, and are engaged scholars and award-winning teachers. The person hired will join a diverse team of colleagues who are active in their fields, serve as mentors to their students in scholarship and practice, and are fortunate to have close working relationships with an extensive alumni network.
In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also be expected to assist students in connecting to campus resources and support services. Department colleagues and technical staff will provide resources and support to assist with teaching, and the College's Center for Teaching & Learning offers additional resources to enhance the teaching experience.

- Ph.D. in related field or MS or MBA and CPA by start of the position
- Teaching experience preferred
