Principal is responsible for administration for two Indian Education summer programs: K-8 Diné Summer Immersion and K-8 Summer Enrichment. Between the two programs there will be approximately 180 students K-8 and 20 staff providing programming from 8:00 am and noon. Breakfast and lunch are served and staff are on site from 7:30 to 2:00 pm. The Immersion program will also have UNM Diné Language Teacher Institute faculty and mentors on campus for the duration of the program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform the duties of a principal in a manner that ensures the smooth and safe operation of the Indian Education programs at Tony Hillerman Middle School in collaboration with Indian Education, APS Extended Learning and other relevant departments.
Knowledge and experience working with Native American students, families and programs.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE: The minimum requirements for this job are as follows:
- New Mexico K-12 administration license
All teachers must have the correct license/endorsements/credentials on file with APS HR prior to working this program.

All Schools will be closed on June 19th for the Juneteenth Holiday
Student day is from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
Teacher workday is from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm, with a 30 minute break for lunch
