Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining financial records. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of payroll and billing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
- Process and review bi-weekly payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and commissions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and tax withholding.
- Recordkeeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate payroll records and billing documentation.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, tax filings, and other required documentation.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports for management.
- Ensure all billing and payroll information is processed in accordance with company policies.
- Accounts payable
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approvals.
- Ensure that invoices are paid in a timely manner
- Compliance and Audits:
- Assist with internal and external audits as related to payroll and billing.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure company compliance.
- Ensure accurate deduction of employee benefits, taxes, and garnishments.
- Other Administrative Support:
- Assist with general office tasks and administrative duties as needed.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to improve payroll and billing processes.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience in payroll processing and billing (typically 2-3 years).
- Knowledge of payroll software and billing systems (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel).
- Strong understanding of payroll taxes, deductions, and legal requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $23.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
