Job Description
This position is located at Maple Manor, 139 Minard Run Road, Bradford, PA 16701. Maple Manor is an inpatient alcohol and drug rehab facility that can accommodate 24 individuals.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol recovery support program practices and community resources.
- Knowledge of the drug and alcohol services delivery system.
- Knowledge of the purpose, goals and objectives of the drug and alcohol recovery process.
- Ability to develop and maintain a sympathetic and understanding attitude when working with program clients.
- Ability to learn and apply simple principles and methods of drug and alcohol rehabilitation to facility residents.
- Ability to make judgments regarding the health and welfare of program clients and to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Ability to provide appropriate transportation for residents to appointments.
- Ability to maintain records.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships.
Job Duties
- Provide instruction role modeling, and coaching individuals in skill building activities such as budgeting, job interviewing, civic involvement, or self-assertiveness training

- Encourages individuals’ empowerment in asserting their rights and needs
- Work with the pharmacy and medical professionals to ensure timeliness of medication refills and new order fills
- Provide support in habilative and life skills for areas of deficit based on the individuals’ needs, which includes provided authentic instruction and linking individuals to necessary resources
- Attends AA/NA meetings and educational conferences in order to learn facts, skills, abilities, and attitudes necessary for assisting clients to return to independent living
- Provides individuals with knowledge of nutrition, family organization, and money management skills
- Work collaboratively with DATS, case managers and the inpatient supervisor in order to actively participate in the development of continued programs and services available for clients
- Resolves problems with individuals and interacts with other “team members” (treatment team, probation, medical professionals, etc., as applicable) to eliminate obstacles to recovery. e.g. linkage to child-care, employment, transportation, housing, etc.
- Provides input to individuals developing a personal recovery plan, which provides self-determined direction to one’s recovery process
- Conducts recovery check-ups and promotion by observing behavior and forms of individual contacts and feedback such as telephone or email
- Conducts groups in order to facilitate goal-oriented skill transfer related to deficits present within the population in a recovery oriented atmosphere
- Advises and informs individuals regarding community resources, including housing, employment, education, transportation, recreation, health, religious/spiritual, and other resources to meet goals, objectives, and needs
- Advises and informs by providing information to individuals on individuals’ medications
- Prepares written documentation of services provided to individuals and the effectiveness of delivered supports
- Adheres to agency rules and regulations, safety programs in order to respond to emergency situations
- Documents and maintains files of the progress clients have made toward accomplishing the goals and objectives delineated in treatment plans
- Maintains records and reports, under the supervision of inpatient supervisor, in order to learn and gain proficiency in the procedure
- Develops and implements recovery oriented programs with approval of inpatient supervisor
- Transports clients to appointments as needed
- Provides information about services to callers
- Shares strengths, hopes, and experiences with clients where applicable, including in group and individual settings
- Provides back-up support to other staff members
- Provides whatever services are needed for the wellbeing of the clients
- Provides Seeking Safety sessions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Driver's License is required. Drug Testing is required.
