Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting different equipment and performing any repairs or preventative maintenance when required. Previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals. Basic industrial electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills are required.
Role and Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all production and facility equipment as directed.
- Always work in a safe manner following all established safety rules and regulations.
- Monitor machine operation and control panel displays, and compare readings to specifications to detect malfunctions
- Clean machines, tooling, and parts, using solvents or solutions and rags
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
- Repair and maintain mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems, cooling towers, induction ovens/furnaces, shot blast machines, injection presses, and various other production equipment.
- Perform reactive maintenance as needed to fulfill production needs.
Qualifications & Physical Demands:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven maintenance experience.
- Foundry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Electrical, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical Incline, Knowledge of PM’s, Welding and Troubleshooting.
- Trouble shoot / knowledge of 120-600V AC circuits along with 12-48V DC circuits.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Able to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Able to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills and detail oriented.
- Professional presentation and attitude.
- Able to maintain focus while working individually.
- Team orientated, and able to follow basic instructions.
- Able to bend, climb, crawl, and lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, steel toe metatarsal shoes/boots, & safety glasses must be worn while on the production floor and performing this role.
- Must have own basic tools, socket sets, wrenches, screwdrivers, electrical meter, etc. Power tools and specialty tools for specific machines/jobs are company-owned and kept in the maintenance shop for use.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
