What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fitness/Game room Coordinator position at Alcona County Commission on Aging?
Summary: Under the general direction of the ACCOA Board of Directors and ACCOA
policy guidelines, the service provider has the responsibility of maintaining an efficient performance of the duties assigned by the ACCOA Board of Directors and its Executive Director
adhering to the personnel policies and procedures of the ACCOA Board of Directors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members and prospective members
Ensure a clean and safe facility, fitness room, pickle ball area, game room, locker rooms
and gymnasium
Provide excellent customer service
Basic maintenance to equipment/ daily checks of equipment for safety
Make sure equipment is clean after every use and games are in working order
Familiarize clients with equipment and games
Schedule training and exercise classes
Assist clients with enrolling in My Senior Center
Membership enrollment
Making sure locker room and rest rooms are clean
Resolve member issues
Keep up cleaning logs/ AED checks/ Medical supply cabinets/ First Aide Boxes
Inventory/ supply orders
Schedule training and exercise classes

General Description:
Must be neat and clean in appearance
Must be friendly and polite
Must be able to lift heavy objects
Qualifications:
Knowledge of and access to local resources
CPR/First Aide Certified (Can get certification through ACCOA)
Must possess good verbal and written communication
Must have passion/motivation for Fitness
Must have reliable transportation with insurance
No felony convictions (State Police Background Check)
Must possess a genuine interest and concern in working with people of all ages and have
a confidential and tactful nature.
Must maintain confidentiality of clients and vendors
Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, and agency databases.
Must be able to manage calendars
Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
Possible weekends, evenings, and special events
Schedule must be able to be flexible
Ability to effectively communicate or relate with staff and the public in a
professional capacity and provide service in a culturally competent manner.
Educational Background:
High school diploma/GED
Must have experience with Fitness (Fitness degree a plus)
Two years of Fitness/Wellness experience
