What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Athletics position at Alden CSD?
The Alden Central School District is seeking an exceptional administrator for the position of Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics. The Director will be responsible for the supervision of the K-12 Health and Physical Education curriculum; interscholastic and extracurricular physical education, athletics, and sports related programs and their respective staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have:
- Demonstrated commitment to students;
- Outstanding record of achievement and leadership;
- Record of successful teaching, coaching, and administrative experience;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, parents and community members;
- Ability to provide leadership in the development and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum of health and physical education for all students;
- Evidence of prior experience managing the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic and intramural athletic events;
- A comprehensive knowledge of the laws, polices and regulations as established by the NYS Education Department as well as the NYS Public High School Athletic Association;
- Ability to supervise and evaluate teachers, coaches and staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
NYSED Administrative Certification; SDL or SDA and NYSED certification in Physical Education (preferred).
SALARY: Minimum starting salary $90,000. Commensurate with Experience, Academic Preparation and the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Alden Central School Administrator's Association and the Superintendent of Schools.
