JOB OPPORTUNITY – IT Manager – ApplicationsAre you an experienced IT professional with a passion for public service, business applications and technology leadership? Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is seeking an IT Applications Manager to lead and enhance the District’s enterprise applications, database systems, and GIS platforms. This position is responsible for managing application lifecycle processes, ensuring data security and integrity, and driving efficiency through innovative technology solutions. About the Role: As the IT Applications Manager, you will work closely with the Information Technology Services Manager to strengthen AWWD’s IT infrastructure and enhance operational efficiency. Key focus areas include: Enterprise Applications Management – Lead the administration, maintenance, and development of the District’s enterprise applications, databases, and GIS systems to ensure accuracy, security, and optimal performance.Leadership & Team Development – Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team that embraces continuous learning and innovation.System Integration & Optimization – Identify opportunities for integration and system enhancements to improve efficiency and service delivery.Data Governance & Cybersecurity – Implement best practices for data integrity, security, and system resilience to protect critical business information.Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery – Establish and maintain robust disaster recovery plans, redundancy measures, and incident response protocols to minimize downtime and safeguard data.IT Procurement & Vendor Management – Oversee IT budgets, procurement, vendor contracts, and service agreements to ensure cost-effective and high-quality technology solutions.Focus on strategic IT planning and business continuity is essential to our IT Applications Manager. This position is responsible for developing and executing long-term IT strategies that align with AWWD’s mission and growth objectives, ensuring that technology solutions effectively support operational needs and future expansion. This position will work in close collaboration with management, IT support staff, and operations staff to enhance the function, quality, and value of AWWD’s infrastructureThe ideal candidate will bring expertise in enterprise applications management, database administration, GIS technologies, and IT leadership. They will be a collaborative leader, adept at managing personnel, prioritizing IT initiatives, and implementing technology best practices to support the District’s strategic goals. Experience in the public sector, IT project management, and business process improvement is highly desirable.This position combines technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration to ensure that the District’s business applications and data platforms are secure, reliable, and effectively support daily operations. Annual Salary: $130,166.40 - $174,449.60Qualifications: Any combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities that enables the candidate to successfully perform the role will be considered.Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
