We are seeking a self-driven, team-oriented, and people-focused professional to join our client's leadership team in Ashland! The Senior HR Generalist serves as the primary HR partner at the site level, handling employee relations, talent management, training, engagement, benefits, workers' compensation, and HR projects. This role also supports remote and corporate employees.
Top Focus Areas:
- Build strong relationships with the HR team (remote), operations (on-site), and production employees (all shifts), maintaining a professional and solution-oriented approach.
- Develop and support employee engagement initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Learn the business and leverage data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Continuously seek innovative solutions to improve processes and enhance employee satisfaction.
- Maintain consistent communication and follow-through with all stakeholders to foster collaboration.
Education, Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field (required).
- 3-5 years of HR generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, principles, and best practices.
- Proven ability to independently problem-solve and handle complex employee relations issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Strong analytical, prioritization, teamwork, and project management skills.
- PHR or SPHR certification (preferred).
- Experience with AI-driven HR solutions (helpful but not required).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations at the site.
- Manage all aspects of the employee life cycle, from hiring and onboarding to performance management and offboarding.
- Maintain close collaboration with the HR team and business operations leaders.
- Assist with recruitment efforts, including conducting interviews as needed.
- Coach and guide managers on employee relations and disciplinary actions.
- Support corporate HR initiatives, including DE&I, wellbeing programs, and attendance management.
- Drive people processes to ensure employees meet current and future organizational needs.
- Lead and support HR projects as determined in the HR planning process.
- Ensure timely completion of goal-setting, performance reviews, and engagement surveys.
- Assist line management with talent forecasting and workforce planning.
