This position is for an Director of Human Resources for the 2024-2025 school year.
PayGrade 5, 236 days/12 month calendar
Primary Purpose:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of human resource programs that support the district’s mission of ensuring high levels of learning for all students.
This position oversees recruitment, staffing, wage and salary administration, hiring, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and professional development to ensure the district attracts and retains highly qualified staff in alignment with organizational goals.
The role ensures legally sound and effective Human Resources policies, programs, and practices are implemented.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in human resources, education administration, or a related field preferred.
Texas Administrator Certification (preferred).
Bachelor's degree required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, Title IX).
Ability to implement policy and procedures
Excellent organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze HR data and metrics to inform decision-making.
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, presentations, and do word processing.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage conflict resolution effectively.
Knowledge of selection, training, and supervision of personnel.
Knowledge of wage and salary and performance appraisal administration.
Knowledge of general and education employment law and hearing procedures.
Ability to manage budget.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, the school board, or other organizations.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources or educational administration.
Experience in school district operations and personnel management is strongly preferred.
Leadership experience with recruitment, compliance, employee relations, and compensation.
