Position: Cloud Storage Engineer
Location: Holyoke, MA (Hybrid/Remote)
Duration: 5 Months (Contract)
Requirements:
• A Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or similar engineering field is required, or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of 10 years related experience OR the equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must have experience with block, object and file storage solutions including Pure, EMC, VPlex,
XtremIO, ECS Object Storage, Unity technologies
• Knowledge and experience with AWS managed storage services.
• Experience documenting technical solutions utilizing Atlassian Confluence and Microsoft Vizio
• Solid understanding of NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, S3, and FC storage protocols
• Must be able to work independently or with no supervision
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Ability to document strategies and designs; and present to management with benefits analysis
• Experience with authoring Terraform modules from scratch, maintaining existing Terraform code
base and Terraform Enterprise Cloud management and configuration
• Knowledge of the AWS, Rubrik and storage providers for Terraform
• Current working experience in Terraform for AWS and Enterprise storage management
• Advanced understanding of GitOps methodologies
• Current working experience with command line Git operations
Desired, not required:
• Experience with HashiCorp Terraform Cloud
• Experience with Bitbucket Cloud
Primary Responsibilities:
• Engineer, design, implement, upgrade, and manage ISO New England’s SAN/NAS environment
• Troubleshooting storage and networking issues to do with SAN/NAS services
• Gathering requirements and providing technical planning and documentation to meet future storage needs on a project by project basis
• Developing a long-term (5-year) SAN/NAS storage road-map that includes technology selection, sizing, and refresh dates and costs
• Document process and procedure for storage life-cycle management that can be utilized by the internal team to support existing and future environments
• Install and configure storage monitoring solution that tracks storage health and utilization
• Provide actionable Network Operations Center alerts and run-books to assist first level support response to problems
