What are the responsibilities and job description for the EHS Supervisor position at Aleron?
This EHS Supervisor role will support the manufacturing operations. You will help establish a Culture. The EHS team, along with the support of the entire organization, will be on the front line of environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, factory safety and risk management. Initially this position will be an individual contributor's position supported by internal & external expertise as needed.As operations and other needs grow this role will be expected to support a team of engineers to meet the expectations of the organization.
More specifically, in this role you will:
- The EH&S Supervisor will lead a team in implementing programs to manage risk, improving critical KPI's as well as meeting or exceeding regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and management direction in multiple EH&S disciplines including, but not limited to, chemical safety, process safety, equipment safety, ergonomics, hazardous waste management and environmental permitting.
- Work directly with the Process Development and Manufacturing teams to ensure that all safety programs, applicable safeguards and training programs are in place for existing equipment/process as well as guide new requirements. Where needed drive the development of specific safety and/or training programs.
- This will be a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
- This position will build and maintain ERT responsibility for the factory. As issue arises, lead investigation and drive root cause corrective action as warranted.
- This position must be able to assess EH&S needs. In cases where internal resources are insufficient, we be able to effectively source and manage 3rd party resources to support needs.
- This position will work with these teams to provide timely inputs to the equipment and process design reviews, installation and start-up of equipment and processes.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- Candidate must have a bachelor's degree (Master's degree desirable). Strong preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering or related fields such as Chemical Engineering or Environmental Science.
- This position requires 2 years of demonstrated EH&S leadership experience in a complex manufacturing environment with an emphasis on semiconductor, thin film solar or chemical manufacturing.
- Must possess active professional certification (CSP, IH or CHMM)
