Position Overview:
As the EHS Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in fostering a safe and compliant work environment. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs, with a particular focus on field operations. This role is perfect for a proactive leader who is passionate about safety and has a strong understanding of environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety programs and policies that protect employees from workplace hazards.
- Design and deliver hands-on training sessions for employees, ensuring they are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to follow safety protocols and emergency procedures effectively.
- Train and educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Enforce safety regulations and monitor compliance with safety standards across all departments.
- Manage safety equipment inspection, testing programs, and maintain emergency equipment and PPE.
- Conduct site surveys to ensure compliance with Corporate Health and Safety policies, programs, procedures, and guidelines, and maintain a safe and healthful operation and work site.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all EHS-related matters, including representing the company during regulatory actions.
- Collaborate with field management teams to improve operations and ensure alignment with safety and quality control standards.
- Participate in health and safety committee meetings and drive their completion.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, developing management plans that minimize the company’s environmental footprint.
- Be available for after-hours calls and responses for high-hazard operations.
Qualifications:
- Strong desire to work in a family-environment, team-oriented.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), OSHA certification, or HAZWOPER training are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar EHS role, preferably in environmental services, industrial waste management, or emergency response.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and HAZWOPER principles, with practical application in field settings.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others to prioritize safety.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
