What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Laborer Lead position at Aleut Federal, LLC?
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Direct and supervise the work of crew members.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are inspected daily.
- Tools and equipment are properly secure while being transported from one location to the next.
- Ensure that crew members have the required safety equipment on hand, and it is being always utilized.
- Submit daily attendance reports for all assigned personnel.
- Attend weekly staff meetings (as needed) and conduct crew meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Report any disciplinary concerns to management and the Union Steward.
- Provide quarterly check-ins and annual performance reviews for all assigned personnel.
- Performs other duties as directed by the Supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Basic computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate grounds equipment.
- Knowledge of landscaping techniques and plant care.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to do the following for a period: stoop, kneel, reach, lift, walk, weed whack, and sit.
- Some climbing and balancing.
- High noise levels are common with general maintenance.
- Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
- Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This role requires work in a non-office setting, outdoor and industrial locations.
- Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
- Required the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- We require wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, hard hat, and hearing protection.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
- Must be able to be cleared for base or site access.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License. CDL is preferred.
- You must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
- Must be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
- Must be a legal U.S. Resident per contract.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in the English Language per contract.
