Description and Essential Job Functions
The Director of Contracts will have a high strategic impact on the Contracts & Procurement Department (CPD), Aleut Federal vertical business units, and the enterprise.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the Aleut Federal Contracts staff of a team of 3-4 contract professionals.
- Mentor less-experienced Aleut Federal Contracts staff.
- Provide guidance and leadership to vertical business unit team members and other leverage groups (e.g., Finance, People Team, and Operations).
- Engage and Manage Contract Drafting & Negotiations
- Full Lifecycle Contract Management (proposal, negotiation, execution, renewal, and potentially close-out
- Handle critical contractual formation and management obligations of high risk and visibility, ensuring all contractual documentation is concise and consistent, both from a technical and contractual perspective.
- Analyze and identify relevant terms and conditions and perform risk assessments/risk management at appropriate levels for contract scope.
- Identify and develop solutions to out-of-scope cost/schedule changes to protect company resources. Proactively engages with vertical business units and supports leverage groups to drive participation and support of projects to the point of successful completion.
- Dispute Resolution: manage and resolve contractual disputes as they arise. Engaging the Legal counsel as necessary.
- Work independently, managing daily/routine workload and special projects with minimal oversight.
- Assist the Aleut Federal vertical business units in developing and maintaining Prime Contractor and Customer relationships. Establish enterprise contract strategy and drive implementation of strategic contract opportunities with the most significant impact on the company.
- Review and implement compliance procedures and tracking mechanisms to ensure compliance with federal, state, and/or local contracts, including maintaining all contractual documentation and files under Aleut Federal Contracts policies and procedures.
- Support corporate and external audits related to prime and subcontract award compliance.

Interface:
Directly reports to the Vice President of Finance and regularly interfaces with senior corporate management, customer/supplier executive management, and public agency executives.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of business or related experience. A master’s degree in business is highly desirable. Equivalent years of experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
- Must have 8 years of contract management experience in support of Federal government prime contracts.
- Must have 5 years of experience managing other Contracts professionals.
- NCMA certification is highly desirable.
Salary Range $180K-$190K

Salary : $180,000 - $190,000
