Cultural Instructor – Virtual Paint Night
On-Call (5-10 hours per week) Rate of Pay: $25/hr Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Duties: Plan, coordinate and host virtual classes with culturally relevant themes for Unangax Paint Night. Provide mentorship and guidance for participants during classes. Work with Cultural Heritage Department (CHD) staff, as needed, to practice operating equipment and become familiar with the software that will be used to conduct classes, establish timelines, and work out any technical issues. Establish dates, assist with development of participant surveys, develop a class outline, create supply lists, assemble classroom kits, mail kits, and submit timesheets as required.
Qualifications: Must have knowledge of the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Region, it’s history and traditional practices. Previous experience teaching at culture camps. Ability to interact well with others. Excellent oral skills, including experience with the general public. Must be organized and self-initiating with the ability to work independently.
