Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper and Office Administrator to oversee bookkeeping and administrative operations at our CPA firm. This role also encompasses a wide range of other responsibilities critical to the smooth operation of the firm. Your duties are pivotal in maintaining a productive work environment and supporting our team of tax professionals in processing and e-filing tax returns for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Office Operations: Oversee all general administration of the office to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- W-2 Preparation: At the end of the calendar year, you will prepare W-2 forms for all employees. This includes ensuring accurate information on wages, taxes withheld, and other relevant details.
- Printing, Assembling & E-Filing Tax Returns: Your duties will also include performing the final stages of completed tax returns. This involves collaborating with the tax professionals to resolve any discrepancies in tax returns, printing physical copies, assembling all necessary forms and documents, and electronically filing tax returns with the appropriate authorities. You will also troubleshoot and resolve any e-filing errors or issues promptly, should they arise.
Qualifications:
- Experience as an Bookkeeper, Administrative Assistant, or similar role in a professional setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and experience with financial procedures is a plus.
