OBJECTIVE
The Construction Billing Specialist will be a pivotal position within our accounting team. This position will oversee all billing operations, cutting across work orders, change orders, and other financial matters tied to our construction projects. This position is the cornerstone in ensuring the smooth flow of our financial operations and contributes significantly to our company’s overall performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Accounts Billable
· Responsible for all construction project billing activities.
· Verifies all invoices for accuracy.
· Oversees work and change orders.
· Maintains up-to-date billing system and customer files.
· Generate and issues invoices timely.
· Reviews the proposal for each project to verify what is included and/or excluded from the proposal before creating a change order.
· Reviews lien waivers and returns them as requested by customer.
Accounts Receivable
· Receive payments in QuickBooks from customers.
· Follows the proper job closing process.
· Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile receivables in QuickBooks.
Reporting
· Experience with creating financial statements.
- Profit & Loss Reporting
· Reports organization’s finances to management and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
· Prepare tax forms for the State of Texas’ annual Franchise Tax.
· Prepare documents for internal and external audit.
- i.e. General Liability and Workers’ Compensation.
· Assists in the monthly and end-of- year financial reporting.
Data Entry
· Document financial transactions by entering account information into QuickBooks Desktop
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or other related field, equivalent work experience will be considered. 5 years experience in construction billing will be accepted in lieu of degree.
· Proven working experience within the construction industry or in a similar role.
· Must be proficient with accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent organizational and communication skills.
· Knowledge of construction billing and change order procedures.
· QuickBooks Desktop experience, required.
· Three years’ accounting experience.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
