AFI is seeking an individual with previous work experience specifically in LIHTC properties to serve as a Compliance Manager. This individual will be expected to oversee all LIHTC units and actively correct any observed compliance issues while building scalable infrastructure such that 100% compliance is achieved and constantly maintained. This position comes with an annual salary of $60,000/year as well as substantial performance-based incentive opportunities. Chosen applicant will be located in the Midwest and must be able to work remotely, but will be expected to travel as needed to ensure LIHTC compliance on assigned properties.
Job Duties:
- Conduct daily audits on assigned property LIHTC units
- Remain abreast of varying compliance requirements per state as applicable
- Provide support, training, and correction to onsite staff in regards to LIHTC compliance best practices (will require travel onsite if necessary)
- Develop best practice documentation to allow for continued training and KPI benchmarking during growth of LIHTC Portfolio
- Collaborate with third-party monitoring agency regarding necessary reporting, action items for compliance, and other issues
- This role is holistically responsible to train Managers and complete work directly associated with achievement of 100% LIHTC compliance across all applicable units
Qualifications
- 5-10 years LIHTC compliance experience
- 3-5 years working as a LIHTC Property Manager
- Experience with HUD Housing Assistance Payments (HAP)
- TCS (Tax Credit Specialist) certification REQUIRED
- Proven expertise in LIHTC program regulations, income certifications, and HUD guidelines.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and rent collection oversight.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience managing on-site teams, vendors, and community relations.
Compensation
- Base salary of $60,000/year
- Extensive Performance Based Bonus Opportunities (~$25,000/year /-)
- Additional compensation opportunities to be identified following achievement of above milestones
